Spider-Man Stays In The MCU

First, Peter Parker lost Uncle Ben. Then he got snapped out of existance in ‘The Blip’. Next, his mentor and father-figure friend, Iron Man, died saving the universe from Thanos and his pack of baddies. It looked like after his already pretty traumatic young life he was also going to be snatched out of the MCU. For some time Sony and Disney were unable to come to an agreement over how they would split the massive profits from the latest crop of Spidey films. The latest news shows Spider-Man remaining in the MCU for a third film on the original terms that Disney/Marvel co-finance 25% of a third Homecoming movie for a 25% equity stake. That’s good news for fans and for the Spider-Man storyline. Of the agreement, Kevin Feige said “I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it. Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.” Now hopefully Marvel Studios will get to work on the next Spider-Man film. The world is waiting to find out what happens after Mysterio’s big reveal at the end of Far From Home.
