Green Day Announce Intimate When We Were Young Fest Pre-Show

green day

If you’re heading to Las Vegas for When We Were Young Fest, getting there early might be the best decision you ever make. Green Day will be playing an 800-capacity club show on Thursday, October 19 at Fremont Country Club.

The 21+ event features opener Ultra Q. Additionally, the band encourages attendees to wear their best zombie fits. I mean, hey, we’re all about celebrating WWWYF and Halloween at the same time, right?

If you’re hoping to score tickets to this intimate show, you can fight for two of them on the day of the show, October 19, at 10 AM PST here. Plus, all tickets will solely be available at will call, warding off any pesky resellers trying to make a quick buck on StubHub. The venue will be checking licenses and credit cards at the door to prevent tickets from going to resellers.

Green Day briefly teased the announcement on October 17, posting a black and white video of the venue with a flag reading “Send Out An S.O.S. It’s Getting Serious,” on Instagram.

Following the show’s official announcement, the band posted another black-and-white Instagram video from Fremont Country Club with a flag reading “Eat At Chef Wong’s One Night Only.” This is, of course, in reference to their album Dookie, in which the cover art features a blimp with this phrase. Dookie‘s “Having A Blast” plays in the background of the video as well. As the record approaches its 30-year anniversary, fans may be treated to an album play-through.

For those unlucky folks who don’t score tickets, you have two chances to see Green Day headline When We Were Young on Saturday, October 21, and on Sunday, October 22 with fellow pop-punk legends blink-182.

For those who aren’t able to catch any Green Day show in Las Vegas, stay tuned for new music dropping on October 24.
