Letdown. Strips Back “Love Is A Weapon” Live At idobi Radio Studios

Letdown. Love Is A Weapon WEB HEADER

In preparation for the highly anticipated event of the summer, the idobi Radio Summer School Tour, Letdown. seized the spotlight at the idobi Radio Studios in Los Angeles, CA, for a heavenly stripped-back rendition of “Love Is A Weapon.” The track was issued as a standalone single in 2021 before the group’s 2023 breakout full-length, Crying In The Shower.

Armed with two acoustic guitars and the rhythmic pulse of a cajón percussion, Letdown. unveils a transformative interpretation of “Love Is A Weapon.” Stripping away the synth-heavy and full-band layers that defined its original format, the group infuses the track with a fresh vitality, breathing new life into its essence. Led by Letdown.’s mastermind Blake Coddington‘s captivating delivery and infectious vocal range, one could argue that the acoustic-laden “Love Is A Weapon” is the rendition fans have been craving since its release.

Speaking with Fish, Coddington shares how he approachs reimagining earlier releases. “I approach things from a weird classical, stringy standpoint usually. So, actually, that kind of stuff comes more naturally to me than the alternative production style.” Check out the stripped-down version of “Love Is A Weapon” below.

Letdown. is scheduled to perform on the idobi Radio Summer School Tour this July and August alongside Stand Atlantic, Magnolia Park, The Home Team, Scene Queen, and Honey Revenge. Tickets are available here.
